Once the air has been compressed and then treated it needs to be distributed around the system. Firstly there is a large tank called an air receiver acting as a capacitor to maintain a steady supply of air to the system; then the pipework to distribute the air to the points of use.
The design of the pipe work is very important, the sizing and layout will make a huge difference to the system's efficiency (see design and installation) and all sorts of factors have to be taken into consideration (temperature, environmental impact, ventilation, heat recovery etc.).
We can design, supply and install pipe work in various materials, however our preferred option for most applications is Transair aluminium supplied by Legris. Occasionally different applications call for the use of galvanised steel, aluminium, stainless steel, plastics including solvent welded and electro-fusion (single or contained "pipe within a pipe") or copper degreased with brazed joints.
Specialist Equipment
There are a few other specialist items that Airchannel supplies all related to compressed air. These tend to be new product innovations with which at least some of our customers could find efficiency improvements or energy savings.
Nitrogen Generators
Gone are the days of having heavy tanks of nitrogen delivered to you, now if you have a compressed air supply you can generate your own on demand.
BEKOKAT
A new innovation by BEKO which uses a catalytic converter to create oil-free air. This new innovation can work at up to 16 bar and is available in a range of sizes to suit nearly all requirements. Now there is an alternative to investing in an oil-free compressor.
MEDBAC
Compressed air that is used for medical treatments has to meet specialist requirements in terms of compressed air quality, availability and patient safety. This piece of equipment from BEKO now makes it easy to comply with the mandatory limit values stipulated in the European Pharmacopoeia.
Legris
Legris is the world's leading manufacturer of connectors for compressed air distribution systems. Transair® is the division of Legris specializing in aluminium air pipework systems for new projects, for renovation, extension or modification of existing systems and for point of use connection.
